Cameroon study examines ICT role in virtual organizations
A study published in the Revue Camerounaise des Sciences Sociales explores the deployment of virtual organizations within complex environments, specifically focusing on Cameroon. The research, conducted by Dr. Alvine Djengue ETAME, examines how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) contribute to organizational coordination and performance.
Driven by economic instability and the need for flexibility, many institutions are transitioning to remote operations with dispersed teams. The study utilized case studies from the University of Douala’s Internet Academy regarding e-learning and UBA regarding e-banking. Based on testimonies from 60 participants, including students, teachers, and bank employees, the findings indicate that ICT effectively facilitates communication and coordination despite the challenges of distance.
