Camilla Asmussen wins Diabetesforeningen Behandlerpris 2026

Camilla Asmussen, a diabetes nurse at the Children and Youth Department of Holbæk Hospital, has been awarded the Diabetesforeningen Behandlerpris 2026. The award, presented by Diabetesforeningen CEO Claus Richter, is given annually based on nominations from people living with diabetes and their relatives to honor practitioners who make an exceptional effort in treatment, care, and support.

Asmussen was recognized for her high level of professional expertise and her commitment to providing security for children with type 1 diabetes and their families. Nominations highlighted her tendency to extend support beyond the hospital setting, ensuring that families, schools, and institutions possess the necessary knowledge to manage the condition effectively. Her team follows approximately 200 children and young people with type 1 diabetes, providing individual and group consultations as well as support during transitions between different educational and care environments.
