Camille Giordani and Junko Nakamura win 2026 baby book prize

Camille Giordani and Junko Nakamura have won the 2026 Prix du livre pour les bébés for their work ‘Sur le sable’, published by Seuil Jeunesse.

Established in 2025 by the French Ministry of Culture, the award provides 4,000 euros to recognize children's literature specifically designed for children under the age of three. The prize honors works that encourage interaction between toddlers and adults through text, imagery, or book design.

The selection was made from 20 works chosen by the Centre national de la littérature pour la jeunesse at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. The jury, chaired by illustrator Soledad Bravi, evaluated the entries based on their ability to serve as tools for exploration and sensory experience.
