Camilo Duran scores for Celtic despite 4-1 loss to Benfica

Celtic striker Camilo Duran experienced a whirlwind 24 hours, balancing the birth of his second child with a trip to Lisbon for a UEFA Europa League match against Benfica.

Despite the personal milestone, Duran expressed disappointment following Celtic’s 4-1 defeat at the Estádio da Luz. The Colombian forward scored Celtic’s lone goal of the match with a header from a Haissem Hassan cross, but it served only as a consolation. Benfica secured the victory with goals from Jhon Duran, Alexander Bah, and Vangelis Pavlidis.

Duran noted that the team struggled in the first half, where Benfica established a 3-0 lead. Looking ahead, the striker emphasized the need for the squad to rest and focus on upcoming fixtures, including a Europa League match against Celta Vigo and a domestic confrontation with Hearts.
