Caminha Medieval Festival draws crowds to northern Portugal

The historic centre of Caminha in northern Portugal will host the Caminha Medieval festival from July 22 to 26, 2026. The five‑day event transforms the town into a medieval village with a parade featuring King D. Dinis and his court, fire shows, knight tournaments, themed taverns, music, theatre, dance and bird exhibitions.

Nearby Vila Nova de Cerveira is highlighted as a cultural destination. The town, situated on the Minho River bordering Galicia, is home to the International Biennial of Art, with its 24th edition scheduled from July 18 to December 30, 2026, offering exhibitions, awards and a museum that integrates contemporary art into the historic landscape.
