Caminhos da Piedade pilgrimage to gather 4,000 people

The Caminhos da Piedade pilgrimage is expected to gather approximately 4,000 participants this Sunday, September 13. Organized by the Catholic communities of Cataguases and Leopoldina, this marks the twelfth edition of the event.

Participants will walk toward the Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Piedade in the Piacatuba district. To support the pilgrims, organizers have established support points every five kilometers, providing water, fruit, chemical toilets, and waste disposal. Security for the route will be provided by the Military and Civil Police.

In Leopoldina, the gathering is scheduled for 2:00 AM at Praça Dom Helvécio, while in Cataguases, the concentration begins at 3:00 AM at Praça Santa Rita. Official shirts were sold out prior to the event, and those who purchased them are entitled to water, fruit, and return transportation via bus.
