Camino pilgrimage routes expand in Croatia

New segments of the Camino pilgrimage routes are being introduced in Croatia, focusing on connecting religious heritage with natural landscapes.

A new 15.5-kilometer section titled ‘Camino along the rivers’ will be presented in the Karlovac region. Scheduled for September 27, 2026, the route begins in Hrnetić, passes through Karlovac and the National Sanctuary of Saint Joseph in Dubovac, and concludes in Turnje. The path follows the Korana and Kupa rivers, aiming to integrate pilgrimage with local cultural and religious heritage.

Additionally, Camino events are scheduled for early October 2026 in the Zadar region. On October 3, a 13-kilometer walk will proceed from Banjevci to Vrana, traversing the Ravni Kotari plains. On October 4, a 15-kilometer segment will lead pilgrims from Vrana to Biograd na Moru, transitioning from the inland landscape toward the coast.
