Camino Zadar pilgrimage draws travelers to Croatia

Pilgrims are participating in the Camino Zadar, a walking route in Croatia that traverses landscapes between the sea and the Velebit mountain range. Recent segments of the pilgrimage included stretches from Posedarje to Maslenica and from Maslenica to Selina.

American pilgrims John and Kathy Willis recently completed a 522-kilometer journey through the Croatian sections of the Camino, starting from Međugorje. They traveled through routes including Camino Međugorje, Imoti, Central Dalmatia, Šibenik, and Zadar, ending in Maslenica. The couple highlighted the hospitality of local residents and the natural beauty of the region as standout experiences.

The pilgrimage emphasizes community and spiritual reflection, featuring morning masses, prayer, and communal meals. Participants navigate historical sites, such as the Way of the Cross on Brisnica hill, which includes fourteen stone stations overlooking the sea.
