Camorra-linked kidnapping and extortion of luxury car dealer in Caserta leads to 11 arrests

In May, a luxury car and watch dealer in the Casertano area was abducted, beaten and robbed by individuals linked to the Camorra clans of Casalesi, Recale and Curti. The victim lost cash, a high‑value watch and a bag containing car keys. Police investigations across the provinces of Naples and Caserta uncovered a network operating across the two territories. Eleven suspects were placed under pre‑trial custody after a court order, facing charges of kidnapping for extortion, robbery, aggravated assault and mafia‑related offenses. Threats were also reported to have been made via video calls from prison. The arrests follow earlier detentions of members of the Casalesi clan and include alleged intermediaries who communicated with the victim while already incarcerated. The case is now before the Tribunal of Naples for further judicial review.
