Camosun College bear sighting and Katmai infanticide highlight safety concerns in Canada and US

In Alaska's Katmai National Park, live‑cam footage captured a mother brown bear (identified as Bear 806) attacking and consuming an unrelated cub at Brooks River. Park naturalists explained that while female‑initiated infanticide occurs, this is the first documented case at Brooks River, and the incident sparked a live discussion with rangers and experts about possible motivations.
