Camosun College engineering students present capstone projects

Mechanical engineering students at Camosun College’s Interurban Campus presented their capstone projects at the Centre for Trades Education and Innovation. The event allowed students finishing two-year diplomas to showcase their work to faculty, community members, and potential employers.

Featured innovations included a system for converting captured carbon dioxide into sidewalk chalk, a self-cleaning lake water intake system, and a smart marine buoy designed for environmental monitoring. Other projects included an automated machine for manufacturing rock climbing hangboards and a specialized conveyor belt commissioned by Arbutus Grove Nursery to improve seedling-tray cleaning efficiency in North Saanich.
