Campagna apologizes after vehicle strikes six cyclists
Giuseppe Campagna, a 73-year-old former construction worker, has issued an apology through his lawyer following an incident in which a vehicle struck six cyclists near the Coassolo bridge. Two of the cyclists were airlifted to hospitals in critical condition.
The Prosecutor's Office of Ivrea is investigating the incident under suspicion of intentional maneuvers. Campagna expressed remorse, stating, “I ask forgiveness from the families of the injured. I admit my guilt and my responsibility, desperate is to say little.” Authorities are continuing to examine the driver's background as the investigation proceeds.
