Campagna authorities investigate death of 97-year-old woman

Authorities in Campagna are investigating the death of 97-year-old Michela Di Michele, whose body was found carbonized in her home in the Carriti locality on August 19.

An autopsy conducted at the Eboli hospital has reportedly revealed a lesion on the woman's chest, the origin of which remains undetermined. Investigators are awaiting a full expert report, which is expected in approximately 90 days.

Specialists from the Ris di Roma have inspected the residence to collect biological traces and evidence. The Carabinieri and the Salerno Prosecutor's Office are working to determine the dynamics of the fire and whether the discovered lesion is related to the cause of death.
