Campania Approves DMO and Grants Millions for Tourism Development

The Campania regional government issued Decreto Dirigenziale n. 417 on 20 July 2026, admitting the proposal for the Destination Management Organization “Cilento e Vallo di Diano”. The DMO will coordinate 49 municipalities, representing more than 42 000 accommodation places, and must complete formal regional steps before gaining full recognition. Mayor Stefano Sansone of Ascea welcomed the decision, saying it “rewards the work done so far and offers a concrete growth opportunity for the territory”.

In a related measure, Decreto Dirigenziale n. 405 dated 17 July 2026 approved the rankings of a public notice to boost enogastronomic tourism. Of the 45 “social inclusion” projects, 43 were deemed fund‑eligible, and of the 64 “territorial value” projects, 27 received funding, amounting to a total of €9.5 million allocated for local tourism development.
