Campania culture sector shows strong economic growth

The cultural and creative sector plays a significant role in the Italian economy, contributing 6.8% to the national GDP. When including related industries such as hospitality, transport, and technology, the total impact reaches 15.4%. Every euro invested in culture generates 1.7 euros in the wider economic system.

In the Campania region, culture accounts for 4.6% of regional income, the highest in Southern Italy. The region has seen a 12.3% growth in cultural enterprises over the last five years, significantly outpacing the national average of 3.1%. Within Campania, the province of Avellino (Irpinia) stands out with a per capita income of approximately 14,000 euros.

Complementing these economic insights, the fourth edition of the San Gavino Prize, organized by the Ars et Cultura association in Camposano, highlighted the importance of cultural recognition. The event featured performances by maestro Louis Siciliano, emphasizing that culture is a dynamic force of contamination and research rather than a static relic.
