Campania establishes regional tourism observatory

The Campania regional government has officially established the Regional Observatory on tourism flows and accommodation activities. Chaired by Vincenzo Maraio, the Regional Councilor for Tourism, Territory Promotion, and Digital Transition, the body aims to strengthen the monitoring and analysis of tourism trends to enable better strategic planning.

The observatory serves as a collaborative platform bringing together diverse stakeholders from the regional tourism ecosystem. Participants include local authorities such as ANCI Campania and the Municipality of Naples, as well as various industry associations including Federalberghi Campania, Confcommercio, Confesercenti, CNA, Confagricoltura Campania-Agriturist, and Unioncamere Campania. It also incorporates representatives from travel agencies, tour operators, and the Campania Tourism Agency.

By collecting data and listening to local operators, the observatory intends to move beyond simple statistical observation toward active management of the sector. The goal is to interpret tourist flows and changing presence patterns to facilitate informed decision-making and operational dialogue between institutions and the tourism-hospitality industry.
