Campania launches €245 million European‑funded housing programme

The regional government of Campania unveiled the "HO.P.E. – Housing Programme European in Campania", a €245 million plan financed through the European Regional Development Fund (FESR). The programme aims to boost public and social housing, refurbish existing buildings and promote inclusive, sustainable urban development.

It comprises three measures: expanding public residential housing by repurposing assets seized from organised crime; a special initiative to complete renovation works in selected neighbourhoods of Naples and to undertake extraordinary maintenance and energy‑efficiency upgrades of public housing owned by ACER; and a third action to increase social housing, with a focus on new public student residences. Deputy housing minister Claudia Pecoraro stressed that "the right to housing is a clear government priority", while Territoral Government minister Vincenzo Cuomo highlighted €34 million earmarked for energy‑efficient upgrades. President Roberto Fico presented the plan as a tool to reduce inequalities, regenerate territories and broaden access to housing.
