Italy implements school tourism strategy and infrastructure upgrades
Various Italian regional authorities are implementing initiatives focused on school infrastructure and regional development. In Campania, Regional Councilor Enzo Maraio has introduced a school tourism strategy for 2026/2027. The program aims to attract students from across Italy and Europe to the region's internal areas, such as Alta Irpinia and Cilento, by incentivizing educational trips that combine cultural visits with local food and craft experiences. Priority is given to institutions offering overnight stays and those ensuring participation for students with disabilities.
Simultaneously, significant investments are being made in school maintenance and reconstruction. In the Marche region, funds are being transferred to continue the reconstruction of the Leopardi nursery and primary school following the 2016 earthquake. Other local projects include structural repairs to the Collodi-Andersen school in Perugia to resolve water infiltration issues, and fire safety upgrades in Cormano's Beccaria school complex. Additionally, municipal works in Mestre and Fano are addressing seismic improvements, energy efficiency, and general maintenance to prepare facilities for the upcoming school year.
