Campania museums host contemporary art and archaeology exhibitions

Several cultural events are scheduled for October 24, 2026, in the Campania region of Italy, focusing on the intersection of archaeology and contemporary art.

The Museo archeologico nazionale di Pontecagnano will host the contemporary art exhibition ‘Evoluzione’ by Giovanna Corcione. Curated by Francesca Pietracci, the exhibition runs from October 24 to November 8. The works, primarily made of resin, explore the relationship between global political instability and personal internal shifts through dynamic, shifting installations.

In Villamaina, the Museo Archeologico Comunale ‘Paolino Macchia’ will celebrate its inauguration with the event ‘Le nostre radici per un futuro condiviso’. A central feature is the first edition of the archeo-artistic exhibition ‘Le valli e la Dea’, curated by Emanuela Conforti. This exhibition features 24 contemporary artists who reinterpret ancestral symbols of the Valle d’Ansanto through a dialogue with the museum’s archaeological heritage.
