Campania offers AgriCat compensation for drought-damaged crops

The Campania Region has announced that agricultural businesses affected by persistent drought can access compensation through the national AgriCat mutual fund. The drought has specifically impacted chestnut and hazelnut groves.

To qualify for financial compensation, businesses must be active farmers receiving CAP direct payments, maintain an updated company file, and have applied for AgriCat participation within their annual CAP application. Additionally, the business must have suffered a production loss exceeding 20% of the annual average.

Claims must be submitted via the MyAgriCat platform by September 30, 2026. Agriculture Councilor Maria Carmela Serluca emphasized the importance of these tools to support income and production continuity, noting that protecting agricultural potential remains a regional priority.
