Campania Region Approves EU Funds Allocation and Job Programs

The Campania regional cabinet met at Palazzo Santa Lucia and approved a package of measures covering health, European Union funds, labour, the environment and civil protection. The EU fund plan accelerates the 2021‑2027 PR FESR programme, earmarking more than €69 million for education, research and innovation, over €293 million for flood‑risk mitigation in the Sarno river basin, and €122 million for environment, culture, sport, forestry and ports, together with €53 million for instrumental resources and €2.5 million for a student residence.

In the employment arena, the GOL (Guarantee of Employability) programme was updated, strengthening funding for training and extracurricular apprenticeships and extending inclusion‑social internships for three months. A proposal for the socio‑labour inclusion of migrant women, backed by more than €3 million from the PN Inclusion and Poverty‑Fight fund, will address victims of trafficking, severe labour exploitation and gender‑based violence.

The cabinet also reorganised regional veterinary reference centres in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II and other entities, aiming to improve food‑safety and animal‑health services. Additional resources include €2.2 million for wildfire‑prevention in interior areas and a €1.1 million emergency plan for the municipalities of Vietri sul Mare and Cetara, declared in regional crisis after severe storms in February 2026. Finally, the summer sales period was set to start on 4 July 2026 for up to 60 days.
