Campania regional initiatives aim to connect coastal and inland territories

New initiatives are being launched in the Campania region of Italy to integrate coastal and inland territories through culture, environment, and sustainable development.

In Tramonti, the ‘Borgo del Gusto’ project is moving from vision to reality, supported by approximately 2.4 million euros in funding. This includes 1.6 million euros from PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) resources for small village regeneration and nearly 800,000 euros in non-repayable grants for local businesses. The investment aims to create employment and combat depopulation by transforming the ‘Casa del Gusto’ in Polvica into a permanent center for research, training, and gastronomy.

Simultaneously, the ‘Campania Felix – MareTerraMare’ association has been established in Irpinia. The project seeks to bridge the gap between the Tyrrhenian coast and the inland areas, treating the region as a single interconnected system. By linking the natural resources, traditions, and gastronomic heritage of the interior with the coastal archaeological and marine assets, the initiative aims to foster a circular movement of people, knowledge, and economic opportunities.
