Campania separates EAV chairman from director‑general roles
The Campania regional council approved changes to the statutes of the Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV). The amendment bars the sole administrator from simultaneously holding the director‑general position, creating a clear split between strategic direction and operational management.
The reform aims to boost operational efficiency, increase transparency and align the governance of the publicly owned transport operator with standards for wholly public‑sector companies. It also reinforces the region’s role as the single shareholder of EAV, which runs the Circumvesuviana, Cumana, Circumflegrea and other regional transport services.
The new governance model is expected to improve service quality for the thousands of daily commuters relying on EAV’s railway and bus networks.
