Campania transport services face reliability issues and scheduled disruptions

Public transport services in the Campania region, specifically affecting the Benevento-Napoli route and the Naples metropolitan area, are facing operational challenges and scheduled disruptions.

Regional Councilor Fernando Errico has formally requested improvements to the Benevento-Napoli service, citing reliability issues for commuters and students. Errico highlighted specific incidents, including technical difficulties with ticket issuance due to tariff system updates and instances of buses arriving without drivers or failing to depart as scheduled. He also noted concerns regarding insufficient vehicle capacity during peak hours.

In Naples, several service modifications are in effect. The Chiaia funicular is suspended for scheduled maintenance, replaced by bus lines 128 and 241. Additionally, the Napoli-Piedimonte Matese line has been rescheduled due to railway works at Napoli Centrale. Other ongoing disruptions include the continued split of Line 2 between Napoli Campi Flegrei and Pozzuoli Solfatara, and service variations on suburban and Vesuvian lines.
