Campari to sell cognac and tequila brands to Cobblestone Brands

Campari Group has agreed to sell its Bisquit & Dubouché cognac and Cabo Wabo tequila brands to the Irish spirits company Cobblestone Brands. The transaction, which includes the sale of assets and commercial rights, is expected to close by October 31, 2026.

This divestment is part of a strategic pivot by the Italian company to focus on its core aperitif brands and offload non-core assets. Campari has previously sold the Cinzano brand and other liqueurs like Averna and Zedda Piras as part of a portfolio review aimed at operational efficiency and market presence.

For Cobblestone Brands, the acquisition represents a significant expansion. Bisquit & Dubouché, founded in 1819, provides a strong consumer base in South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, while Cabo Wabo offers an established distribution network across more than 20 U.S. states. Brian Fagan, CEO of Cobblestone Brands, stated that the company intends to use its route-to-market platform to provide these legacy brands with increased investment and commercial focus.
