Campbell Hatton honors late father Ricky Hatton and eyes Misfits Boxing comeback

At the BKB 54: Mayhem in Manchester event, former boxer Paulie Malignaggi entered the ring arm‑in‑arm with Campbell Hatton as a tribute to the late two‑weight world champion Ricky Hatton, who died by suicide in September 2023. The ceremony took place in Manchester’s AO Arena, the hometown of the Hatton family. Malignaggi was stopped in the second round by MMA‑turned‑bare‑knuckle fighter Rolando Dy.

Later, Campbell Hatton discussed his own career and future plans in an interview with Fight Your Corner. He explained that he retired from professional boxing in 2024 due to mental‑health and financial pressures, but is now considering a return through Misfits Boxing. He cited talks with promoter Mams Taylor, the prospect of higher earnings, and a potential bout against Sami Hamed, son of British boxing legend Prince Nasser Hamed. Campbell said Misfits offers a “fun” environment with less pressure and could serve as a pathway back into the sport.
