Campbellford man charged after dangerous driving and police pursuit

A 49-year-old Campbellford man, David O’Kane, has been charged following a series of incidents involving dangerous driving and property damage in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

According to the Northumberland OPP, the situation began with a traffic complaint on a Saturday morning. The vehicle was subsequently linked to multiple incidents, including verbal altercations and a non-injury collision in a community event parking lot. After a pursuit where the driver failed to stop on several occasions, O’Kane was taken into custody.

O’Kane faces multiple charges, including dangerous operation, two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief, failure to stop after an accident, resisting a peace officer, flight from a peace officer, and performing a stunt. The vehicle involved has been impounded for 14 days, and the accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in September.
