Violence reported across Mexico and Honduras involving shootings and robberies
Multiple violent incidents have been reported across Mexico and Honduras. In Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, an armed attack at a soccer field in the Las Granjas neighborhood resulted in three deaths and several injuries, including a 10-year-old child. Authorities have detained six suspects in connection with the shooting.
In Morelos, a confrontation between the Mexican Army and armed individuals in Tlaquiltenango led to the death of a sergeant from the 108th Infantry Battalion. Two suspects were arrested following the exchange of gunfire.
In Tetecala, Morelos, authorities inspected the home of assassinated PRI municipal leader Zenón Juárez Hernández. During the search, investigators recovered firearms, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, suggesting the property may have been used for drug consumption or as a safe house.
In Uruapan, Michoacán, an armed robbery at a Café La Lucha branch left seven employees in a state of nervous crisis after suspects stole cash and personal belongings. Meanwhile, in Olanchito, Honduras, a shooting in the La Chorrera community left two people dead and one seriously injured.
