Campeche Carnaval to change venue due to forum renovation

The traditional Carnaval de Campeche will change its venue due to a state-led project to transform the Foro Ah Kim Pech into a multifunctional Scenic Cultural Center. The Campeche City Council is currently evaluating several alternative locations to host future editions of the festival to ensure the tradition continues.

The transformation project, managed by the Secretariat of Urban Development, Mobility, and Public Works (SEDUMOP), involves a total investment of 300 million pesos. The executive project cost 12 million pesos, and construction is expected to take approximately 10 months following a bidding process. Vicente Cruz Ramírez, Secretary of the City Council, confirmed that while the relocation presents a challenge, the municipality is committed to maintaining the event.
