Campeche Governor Layda Sansores details achievements and future projects in 5th government report

Governor Layda Sansores San Román presented her fifth government report for the period June 2025‑June 2026, noting that the major initiatives she is preparing will not bear fruit until about two years after her term ends. The report highlighted near‑million citizen consultations, the recovery of benefits for more than 5,000 workers worth over 295 million pesos, and an investment of more than 28 billion pesos in roads, schools, water, security and basic services.

Key infrastructure achievements included the rehabilitation of state highways with over 474 million pesos, 82 million pesos for street paving, construction of sports fields and parks in 11 localities, water supply extensions to remote communities, new fire‑station sub‑stations, and electricity connections to several towns funded with 9.2 million pesos. Solar‑powered water‑pumping systems were installed in multiple municipalities, and more than 4.8 million pesos were allocated to apiculture and ecotourism projects. Social programs delivered refrigerators, stoves, computers and other supplies to tens of thousands of families, and a 50 percent electricity‑bill subsidy was maintained during summer.

The administration also launched the Ko’ox bus system with 124 modern buses and 228 certified operators, distributed over 136,400 smart cards, issued more than 2,000 property titles, and became the first state to provide official identification to incarcerated individuals. The Campeche Light Rail, spanning 15.2 km with 14 stations, was declared operational, linking the historic centre with the international airport and the Maya Train station.
