Campeche targets economic growth through sports tourism

Campeche is implementing a sports tourism strategy to drive economic development and reduce reliance on traditional vacation seasons. The plan includes seven sporting events scheduled between September and December 2026.

Projections indicate the initiative will attract over 3,500 participants, including 2,290 domestic visitors. This influx is expected to generate approximately 2,040 room nights and an estimated economic impact of 27.4 million pesos, benefiting local hotels, restaurants, transport, and commerce.
