Bad Tölz Hospital Starts Impella CP Use for High‑Risk Heart Cases

The Askepios Stadtklinik Bad Tölz has introduced a new procedure for high‑risk cardiac interventions. For selected patients the micro‑axial Impella CP pump is now employed during coronary procedures, providing temporary circulatory support and allowing a protected percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The technique is intended to increase safety for patients with severely reduced heart function or complex vessel disease.

In parallel, the clinic announced that its chief of internal medicine and cardiology, Prof. Dr. med. Christopher Stremmel, has been formally appointed as a university professor, recognizing his research and extensive experience in interventional cardiology.
