Campina Grande clinic suspends services after fourth burglary in one week

The Policlínica Dr. Francisco Pinto in downtown Campina Grande has suspended all medical services following a break-in on Sunday morning. This incident marks the fourth time the facility has been burglarized within a single week.

Criminals stole equipment and materials and caused structural damage to the unit. Authorities suspect the perpetrators entered through the adjacent, unoccupied Afonso Campos former courthouse building, which is currently ceded to the Government of Paraíba. The condition of this building has reportedly facilitated access for criminals to the clinic and nearby commercial establishments.

The Municipal Health Secretariat is currently assessing the total financial losses. Services have been halted to allow for security improvements, facility reorganization, and the replacement of stolen items. Patients with scheduled appointments, exams, or procedures for Monday will be contacted by the Health Secretariat to reschedule.
