Campina Grande council members propose new urban and social legislation

Several legislative initiatives have been introduced in the Campina Grande City Council addressing urban infrastructure, civil rights, and local commerce.

Councilman Tertuliano Maracajá has requested a technical study from the Superintendency of Traffic and Public Transport (STTP) to enhance road safety at the intersection of Rua Tavares Cavalcante and Rua Floriano Peixoto. The proposal seeks to implement speed reducers or electronic monitoring to protect pedestrians and drivers.

In matters of civil rights, Councilwoman Valéria Aragão proposed a bill to guarantee students' rights to individual and collective expression within both public and private schools. The project aims to foster democratic participation while ensuring that demonstrations do not disrupt pedagogical activities or school operations.

Additionally, Councilwoman Pamela Vital introduced a project for the humanized and sustainable requalification of the Feira Central. The program focuses on improving infrastructure, accessibility, and sanitation while prioritizing the socioeconomic protection of registered vendors and preserving the market's historical and cultural identity.
