Campina Grande legislators debate digital medical documents and water supply rules

The Campina Grande City Council is addressing several municipal policy issues, including digital healthcare documentation and utility service regulations.

Councilman Severino da Prestação has proposed a bill to establish a Municipal Policy for the Recognition of Digital Medical Documents and those issued via telehealth. The project aims to ensure that electronic certificates, prescriptions, and reports are recognized by the municipal administration, provided they include necessary authentication such as qualified electronic signatures or QR codes. The proposal stipulates that the digital nature of a document cannot be used as a sole reason for refusal by municipal authorities.

In a separate legislative session, Councilman Rafafá introduced a bill to regulate water supply interruptions by the Paraíba Water and Sewage Company (CAGEPA). The proposal seeks to restrict service suspensions to after 9:00 AM on weekdays and prohibits water cuts during weekends and holidays. Additionally, Councilman Olímpio Oliveira addressed disability rights and urban mobility, highlighting past legislative efforts to secure public transport access for people with disabilities.
