Campina Grande Neonatal ICU Celebrates World Cup with Themed Gifts for Babies

Newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit at the Instituto de Saúde Elpídio de Almeida (ISEA) in Campina Grande received World Cup‑themed clothing and accessories. The initiative, organized by the unit’s multidisciplinary team, aimed to humanize care and bring joy to families during the Brazil national team’s run in the tournament.

Ingrid Pinheiro, technical nursing leader of the unit, explained that such gestures help ease families’ anxiety, saying, “The ICU is a difficult environment for parents; this is a way to welcome them and bring happiness.” The effort is part of a broader program of commemorative activities, including celebrations for local festivals and health awareness months, supported by the municipal health department.
