Campina Grande São João Festival Attracts 3.4 Million People
The 43rd edition of the São João do Mundo festival in Campina Grande drew 3,450,689 attendees, a 6.7% rise over the previous year. Local approval reached 93% and tourist satisfaction 97.5%.
Mayor Bruno Cunha Lima highlighted recent expansions, including the revitalized Parque do Povo, now celebrating its 40th anniversary, and the integrated Parque Evaldo Cruz, which added new amenities and space for families. He credited the legacy of his great‑uncle Ronaldo Cunha Lima for the event’s growth and emphasized ongoing innovation in programming and infrastructure.
The festival’s success underscores its role as a major cultural and economic driver for the region, reinforcing Campina Grande’s reputation as the “World’s Largest São João.”
