Campinas hosts free social fair and Unicamp 60‑year anniversary exhibition
The free Feira Conexão Social took place on 7–8 August at Lagoa do Taquaral in Campinas. Organized by the nonprofit association Integra Campinas, the two‑day event featured cultural performances—including dance, music, capoeira and a carnival drum corps—food stalls, artisan products and booths from 35 local NGOs covering social assistance, education, health, sport and human‑rights projects. An interpreter for Brazilian Sign Language was provided to ensure accessibility.
On 6 August, the Museu da Cidade – Casa de Vidro opened the itinerant exhibition “60 anos da Unicamp: Três cidades, uma história”. Curated by Ana Cláudia Cermaria, João Paulo Berto and Marcos Tognon, the show presents photographs, documents and maps that illustrate how the University of Campinas has shaped the development of Campinas, Piracicaba and Limeira over six decades. The exhibition runs until 30 September and is free to the public.
