Campinas police arrest suspect in lawyer's murder

The Civil Police of Campinas have arrested a man suspected of murdering 45-year-old lawyer Rafael Henrique Silva de Mello. The victim was shot to death after being forcibly removed from a real estate agency.

Investigations suggest the suspect is the victim's former brother-in-law, who was previously serving an open sentence for other crimes. Authorities noted that the victim had been involved in domestic violence cases involving the suspect's sister. While the suspect denies involvement, digital evidence reportedly places him near the crime scene, and black gloves similar to those used in the murder were found at his residence.

Silva de Mello was a prominent member of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) in Campinas, specializing in family, consumer, and civil law. The OAB has called for a rigorous investigation into the killing.
