Campo Grande launches campaign to combat child labor
The City of Campo Grande has launched the ‘Infância sem Correntes’ (Childhood without Chains) campaign to prevent and combat child labor and other rights violations. Developed by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SAS) in collaboration with the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the Public Defender's Office, and the Social Work Foundation (Funsat), the initiative focuses on three strategic areas: awareness, inspection, and protection.
Key components of the campaign include the creation of the ‘Espaço Amigo da Infância’ certification for partner commercial establishments, a dedicated reporting and guidance section within the +CG mobile application, and the strengthening of official socio-assistance protection channels. Mayor Adriane Lopes emphasized that investments in full-time education across 206 municipal schools and EMEIs are vital to keeping students protected within the school environment.
