Campo Grande faces heavy rain and temperature drops due to cold front

A cold front advancing through Mato Grosso do Sul has brought heavy rainfall and unstable weather conditions to Campo Grande. On Saturday, intense storms caused localized flooding in areas such as Nova Lima, Rachid Neder, and Avenida Gunter Hans, with some locations recording over 40 millimeters of rain in a short period.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued a yellow alert for a temperature drop, predicting decreases of between 3°C and 5°C. Residents, particularly vulnerable groups like children and the elderly, are advised to monitor weather changes as temperatures are expected to remain lower through Monday.

Forecasts indicate continued instability, including the possibility of thunderstorms, wind gusts exceeding 70 km/h, and potential hail. While cloud cover will prevent significant temperature spikes, the region remains at risk for further rain and wind throughout the weekend.
