Campo Grande increases environmental management budget by 4.5%
The municipality of Campo Grande has increased its budget for environmental management by approximately 4.5% for 2025. According to the Annual Budget Laws (LOAs), the projected resources for environmental management rose from R$ 53.18 million in 2024 to R$ 55.59 million in 2025.
Specific allocations include an increase in the Municipal Environment Fund (FMMA) from R$ 4.24 million to R$ 4.36 million. Other departments, such as Planurb and Semadur, also saw budget adjustments.
In addition to direct budget increases, the city utilizes compensatory actions from development projects. For every tree removed through authorized interventions, developers are required to plant 30 trees or provide financial compensation to fund the city's nursery and vegetation coverage expansion.
