Campo Grande leads Brazil in pharmaceutical management system implementation

Campo Grande has become a national reference in pharmaceutical management after becoming the first Brazilian municipality to fully implement the e-SUS Assistência Farmacêutica (e-SUS AF) system. The implementation, which includes both basic and judicialized medicine components, was completed in 50 days across 104 units, significantly faster than the initial three-month estimate.

Municipal Health Secretary Marcelo Vilela presented the process to the National Health Council in Brasília. The project involved technical preparation, including infrastructure for database hosting, access profile reviews, and integration with existing systems to improve stock control and resource utilization within the Unified Health System (SUS).
