SAS Trains Over 1,600 Residents in Campo Grande

The Municipal Social Assistance and Citizenship Secretariat (SAS) in Campo Grande has completed free professional training for 1,690 residents during the first half of 2026. Courses were delivered in the city’s 21 Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (Cras) and covered areas such as baking, pricing, and a “Marido de Aluguel” (handyman) program, in partnership with SENAI, the Fundação Social do Trabalho (Funsat), the Secretaria Executiva da Mulher (SEMU) and the Fundo de Apoio à Comunidade (FAC).

Superintendente de Proteção Social Básica Gizeli Motta said, “A oferta dessas capacitações diretamente nos Cras assegura o acesso democrático à qualificação profissional para as famílias que mais precisam.” The initiative aims to promote financial autonomy and entrepreneurial skills, with participants like student Jackeline Soriano da Silva, who learned bread‑making and price‑setting, and Elenir Arruda, who now can perform household repairs herself. The program also included a driver‑safety education day.
