Campo Grande police find 120 abandoned motorcycle frames

Authorities in Campo Grande have discovered approximately 120 abandoned motorcycle frames in a rural area near the BR-163 highway. The discovery was made by residents who alerted the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM), leading to the involvement of the Specialized Police Station for Repression of Vehicle Theft and Robbery (Defurv).

The find follows a major police operation conducted the previous day targeting a dismantling ring. During that raid, police arrested a merchant, his wife, and an employee on charges including qualified receiving, tampering with vehicle identification, and illegal possession of a firearm. Investigators discovered a secret passage hidden behind a refrigerator that connected the merchant's residence to a neighboring workshop.

Police officials stated that the arrested individual is considered one of the primary receivers of stolen motorcycles in the city. According to Delegate Francis Freire, roughly half of the stolen motorcycles in Campo Grande are used to supply the local market, while the other half are transported to the border.
