Portugal authorities arrest suspects in kidnapping and domestic violence cases
In Portugal, judicial authorities have taken significant actions regarding violent crimes in the Leiria region. Four suspects have been placed in preventive detention following a kidnapping and abduction in Marinha Grande. The group is accused of detaining a man to force payment of a debt, during which the victim was reportedly beaten and threatened with firearms in an abandoned house. The suspects, aged between 19 and 26, are also facing charges related to the possession of prohibited weapons.
In a separate domestic violence case in Leiria, the Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a 23-year-old man caught in the act of threatening his partner. The victim managed to escape after the man brandished a kitchen knife and attempted to attack her with a pan. The suspect reportedly made death threats against the victim and her family members and had previously caused physical injuries to the woman.
