Campo Grande ranks among most competitive cities in Brazil's Center-West

Campo Grande has emerged as one of the most competitive municipalities in Brazil's Center-West region, according to a study by the Centro de Liderança Pública (CLP). The city ranks among the top three in the region and has climbed seven positions in the ranking over the last four years.

Specifically, the city secured second place in the Center-West for the 'Human Capital' pillar. This metric evaluates indicators such as technical and higher education enrollment rates and the qualification of formal workers. The study notes that Campo Grande's results in areas like public administration, innovation, fiscal sustainability, and healthcare quality exceed national medians.

Economic indicators show significant growth, with over 18,000 new companies becoming active between January of last year and September 2026. Additionally, the local job agency reported more than 4,900 job vacancies offered between January and September of this year. Mayor Adriane Lopes attributed these improvements to investments in professional qualification and the reduction of bureaucracy for business openings.
