Campo Grande social assistance program debates screen use impact on mental health

The Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SAS) in Campo Grande is conducting a series of decentralized discussion groups throughout October. Titled “Use of screens and its impacts on the mental health of the worker,” the initiative focuses on the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) units.

The program aims to promote the mental health and well-being of social assistance employees by addressing digital habits, rest, sleep quality, and mental fatigue. These meetings are held in various locations, including social assistance reference centers (CRAS), specialized reference centers (CREAS), and management sectors, to bring psychological support closer to where social work is performed.

Led by specialized teams from the “Cuidando de Quem Cuida” program and psychology interns from Uniderp, the discussions seek to reflect on how hyperconnectivity affects quality of life and creates difficulties in disconnecting outside of working hours. The initiative aims to prevent occupational stress resulting from high-complexity emotional service.
