Campo Grande Social Service Trains Over 1,600 Residents

Over 1,690 residents completed free professional training courses organised by the municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship (SAS) in partnership with Senai, the Fundação Social do Trabalho (Funsat), the Executive Secretariat for Women (Semu) and the Community Support Fund (FAC). The courses were delivered in the 21 Centres of Reference for Social Assistance (CRAS) across Campo Grande during the first half of 2026.

Courses covered areas such as bakery and pricing, practical home‑service skills like electrical work (“husband for hire”), and other market‑oriented modules, aiming to give participants financial autonomy. SAS Basic Social Protection Superintendent Gizeli Motta said the programme “ensures democratic access to professional qualification for families that need it most”.

Participants reported tangible benefits, e.g., Jackeline Soriano da Silva, who had been unemployed, completed bakery and pricing training and now plans additional qualifications; Elenir Arruda, a senior citizen, finished the “husband for hire” course and can perform home repairs herself, reducing household expenses.
