Campo Grande completes 100% LED street lighting upgrade

Campo Grande has finished modernising its public lighting system, replacing all 125,736 street lamps with LED technology. The city becomes the third capital in Brazil to achieve full LED coverage, improving night‑time visibility for drivers and pedestrians and enhancing the sense of safety for residents.

Mayor Adriane Lopes said, “Concluding the modernisation of public lighting is a milestone for Campo Grande. We are delivering a safer, more efficient and sustainable city, with resource savings and a better quality of life for the population.” The new LED network is expected to cut electricity consumption by 30‑35%, generate significant municipal cost savings and position the capital for future smart‑city initiatives, such as automated monitoring and rapid lamp‑failure detection.

The upgrade was carried out by the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Services (Sisep), marking a major step toward energy efficiency and urban innovation in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
